"Treat Her Right" was co-written and sung by Roy Head, whose #2 US hit (I forget its international ranking but it was high as well) with his band The Traits was ready to become the #1 song of 1965 when a song by some moptops from Liverpool stormed the United States. Roy was one of BFG's mentors. Roy's son is Sundance Head, winner of The Voice and touring country act.
