I'll Always Had a Fond Spot for the Bug-Eye
FOND spot. When I first met my Buddy David, he drove a Bugeye...he was 18, I 17....we were like brothers until he died in an industrial accident when in his late 40's...college roommates, hunting, fishing, through marriages, kids..a lot of time shared. During college, I had a '50 Ford. When David had a hot date, we'd swap cars...
Anyway, gawd,,,I felt like Jimmy Clark driving that Sprite..the quick responses to driver inputs. Sure it was gutless...48 horsepower pulling maybe 1500 pounds. I'd be terrified to drive one on the highway today.
This Seattle....I'm sure others here have also driven the track...I was on parts of it, the '75 Parade auto-x. Got 3rd in class... Ah, memories. All we old guys have, it seems. Short video..under 5 minutes.
