Today put the boot outside to air out in the sun. The thing was stored in the trunk for all those years and has a slight old gasoline smell but not too bad. I brought it inside just before dark and wiped it down again with a cleaning wipe. I then wiped it several times with a leather conditioner. It is actually made of a heavy weight vinyl but the conditioner helps to soften and preserve it.
