Is all ancient history to most people now.
For those of us who went there, it was also yesterday.
We were not allowed to talk about it for years. (society norms)
I remember in the 70s, 80s and most of the 90s one could not find a Viet vet. We got smart right away and never let anyone know that we were part of that.
It was really unfair to us.
