I have no use for dogs. That comes from being a contractor in a fast moving business where I worked in 50+ homes a year and dealt with other people's dogs.
But if you ask my wife, she's enamored with Labradoodles. I admit they are handsome and generally seen well behaved.
"Dogs are, frankly, the most amazing creatures in our world."
That may be true, but put them in the average home environment and they become a product of that environment. I can't count how many times I had to pick up the siht in the yard before I could work thee. Not the dog's fault, I know. But the constant barking from the one next door all day made me want to kick something or someone.
This was never the exception, it was generally the rule. I used to dress decently for my estimates. People seem to delight in their dog greeting a visitor by jumping on them slobbering all over my dress pants. Do multiple house calls a day and the scent triggered the next slobberer.
