I have a dozen wooden molding planes. They are fine to look at but I can't see using them much. Same with a brace and bit, but I will admit that since I have enough extension bits that I can assemble an auger bit 6' in length that I have resorted to one doing retrofit electrical work.
I learned the hard way many years ago that a real sharp hand auger bit is a dangerous tool chucked into an electric drill motor. I thought I was being clever. Instead I was being stupid.
