I had read that they had mechanical issues with them until '65, when they finally worked out the bugs and put them in production. They were definitely part of the original design and of course the *one year only* 1965 is the Holy Grail but the '64 is a close second with the revised interior over the '63 and was the only year of the three with the 425 "nail head" engine standard.

This is a spectacular example.
