It looks like Nashville really got hammered with ice.
We shoveled off the driveway just to have the option of going to the local restaurants as an option. Most likely we will just stay home for another day.
Our AC unit will not be used until it gets into the 80s, and that is a while off. The natural gas furnace is working fine for our heating needs.
We have lots of toads and occasional frogs in our Koi pond. I can't imagine they overwinter in the water. I thought they burred themselves in the ground. No turtles either, just 4 Koi. We do have a toad orgy every spring. Tons of toad eggs that the Koi love to snack on. We see a few dozen tiny baby toads, the size of a horsefly in the yard, and and later a handful of toads the size of a quarter. Just a few make it to adulthood.
