I think the braking test shows how skill is much more important than brake performance especially on cold brakes where bigger heat capacity doesn't have much benefit. Anyone can put the gas pedal to the floor but putting everything you've got into a brake pedal at high speed is real skill.

I thought I was pretty good at braking until riding with an instructor into turn 12 at COTA. I thought I was on the brake pedal 100% in my car but quickly learned I was nowhere near it.
