I had a long talk with my brother yesterday. He is 15 years younger and we have different Dad's. His is in a rehab facility now after a nasty fall precipitated by heart issues which made him pass out. Broke a leg, wrenched his throat bad which caused a blood infection, bad concussion, etc. He is fighting, but in the end, he may be done. He was in bad cognitive shape at the beginning of his hospital stay and ignored some of his surgeon's advice which, if he recovers, may render him unable to walk.
Getting old is really tough. Knowing when to fight, or not, is the most difficult of decisions. I hope my wits are about me if/when I face it.
