I second the recommendation for Viking! Our first Viking Cruise was to Greece (with stops in Montenegro, Croatia, and Italy) - we loved it!!! This was followed by a Viking Icelandic cruise, a Viking Atlantic crossing cruise (Portugal), and a Viking South American cruise (where we started in Chile, went ALL the way south to Cape Horn, the Falkland Islands, Uruguay, and Argentina). Viking is somewhat more pricey but the experience is amazing. The average age of the passengers was probably somewhere in the 70's (NO kids are allowed). Typically, two PhD folks are onboard and present daily talks about the history of where you are going. A geologist, a retired RAF pilot, and astronomer were also giving daily presentations. An example of their treatment of passengers: once we landed in Reykjavik, Iceland, we had to take a bus to the ship - presenters were onboard the buses to speak about the sites we were driving through.

Earlier, we had gone on cruises with three other cruise lines but after experiencing Viking, we were hooked. Once you board your first plane on your journey, Viking takes care of everything else. You will not regret this experience. Side note: as you probably already know, Viking does river cruises as well.
