I've only had a chance to ride my new road bike a few times but something has felt a little off. My hands didn't feel comfortable and even worse, my back hurt. I tried to match the new bike seat and bar position to my old bike as close as possible so didn't think that was it but after a couple rides, I recalled the first rule of bike seat position: if your knees hurt, the seat may be too low and if your back hurts, your seat may be too high. So I checked and sure enough the seat was about 1/4" too high. I dropped it 5/16" to get a noticeable change, road this morning, and wow, what a difference! No back pain, hands felt good, but most surprisingly, the bike just felt better and handled better. So lesson learned.
