I've driven a couple/few vehicles with it. I'm not a fan myself, and have thought that it would increase wear.

At the same time, this is NOT about saving the driver of the vehicles money for gas. The amount of money that a single person will save is fairly inconsequential, but I do understand that if you multiply the reduction in fuel used by one car/driver over the course of a year, especially folks that have commutes in stop and go traffic, by the number of vehicles on the road, that it will eventually result in thousands, tens of thousands of gallons, or more of gas used over the course of a year.

So while most of us don't like or want it, I don't know that it's necessarily a bad thing for the world.
