Cloverleafs don't need signals. The do take up more real estate. Is that the point of these things? Anyway we don't need those here. Any signal can mean 2, 3 or 4 cycles to get through at rush hour.

I think the DD intersection is appropriate if the crossing road is too small to warrant a cloverleaf and too busy for a light. There are still signals, but when the light turns green, you go. You don't sit there through the light waiting for the guy in front of you to turn left against a long line of oncoming traffic.
Yes, this is the correct route from North 69 to East Dupont. I think there is a yield sign at the white line in the curve to keep cars exiting 69 from driving into traffic coming from their right if the light is green. This diagram wouldn't be so confusing if North was up and South was down, like a map.
