This is easily solvable, with tough and sensible laws. OK, let me sort through this in my luddite analog brain in this manor:
-There became a time in the not too distant past where photographic evidence was questioned because people got really good at Photoshop. A.I. becomes the go to for doing Photoshop type manipulation.
-Now enter A.I. to help increase accuracy and reduce time needed to do proper identification and evaluation (ie: I've seen articles that state A.I. can detect cancer sooner than... and with more accuracy than...)
-We eventually will rely on A.I. to determine if A.I. is being used to deceive. Hence, we are asking the fox if there has been a fox in the hen house.
-With each new generation, we are using A.I. to detect the A.I. fake that was generated by an A.I. designed to avoid detection by A.I. It will have gotten so complex that we are no longer able to determine the fake without the help of A.I.
At some point in the process A.I. determines to consider the fake as the "better answer than the truth". Can't happen? We already have a generation of people who have been convinced it is O.K. to say with a straight face that "your truth is not the same as my truth" not realizing that
preference or
opinion is not
truth. There is still only one correct answer to 1+1 yet, how many people can't understand that physical biology has just two sexes regardless of your "identity" or "preference"?
