Interesting, so this process makes something similar to a fried egg.
Microwaves are excellent at cooking eggs, presumably because of the water content.
They do a great job of making fluffy scrambled eggs. My wife has lately been "poaching" eggs in the MW. She puts some water in a small bowl/ramekin then crack an egg in it and microwave. Apparently it comes out decent. I assume it's basically the same as you are doing but with water.
