As to the original poster, up until the last few years, I lived in southern Missouri. Explored everywhere by foot, car, motorcycle and boat. Branson is a good place to go to if you have kids or you are too old to walk and need to ride on a bus. It’s entertaining, but not Nashville entertaining. It’s where country music singers go to perform when they are no longer on the main circuit. About 10 years ago, Branson developed their riverfront, and there is plenty of shopping opportunities. But not a reason why I would go to Branson. And Silverdollar city is a fun place, again if you have kids. Although it seems like plenty of adults like it too.
Like some of the other posters have said, there are plenty of really fun places to go to in southern Missouri and northern Arkansas.
