I have never had consistent results with a nail-gun.

Then again it might not make any difference. What else can you do really? If you under drive several you just finish them off with your hammer. I've had uniform wood siding take nails differently on the same board because of what was behind it. I just went back and set any nails that were proud with a hammer.

Exactly. That's been exactly my (much more limited, I'm sure) experience any time I use a nail-gun as well.
