The ice went out of the Annapolis River 11 days ago. Unfortunately two men in their 70s who had an ice fishing shack on the ice didn't recognize the signs. Search and Rescue crews recovered the remains of the shack and one body. After 48 hours the intensive search of the river with boats and helicopters was scaled back and an RCMP helicopter has been doing a search pattern every few days. Given the winds, tides and geometry of the river, there's a chance remains will end up on the opposite shore.
