I wanted to send some money to a person. I have PayPal and Zelle (got rid of Venmo because of scams). The recipient had Cashapp and Apple Pay, or I could put money into her WalMart account. Neither of us has Google Pay. She doesn't accept checks because she doesn't have a checking account.
A CHECKING account!
So in order to send a paltry $15 one of us was going to have to apply for another payment option. I drove over and handed her cash. I think she knew what it was.
Apparently there is an app that lets you use any of them - another layer of "convenience" to skim off their share.
I miss the days of Cash, Check, or Money order.
