New project time! A while back I built a boardtrack-inspired bike. It started with a 90s 3-speed bike and I bought a new Springer fork, saddle, and pedals. Found a vintage style stem, etc. Turned out pretty cool but then I wanted to do a true vintage version of the same thing.
Finally found the perfect vintage bike candidate today. It's a Rollfast. I have not precisely dated it yet but it appears to be late 1940s / early 1950s. Too far gone to restore to original, but great 'patina' for my vision of the bike.
I believe this is what it looked like brand new, even the color combo (silver frame with turquoise accents):
This will be an easy conversion. The springer fork and seat are awesome!! So just flip the handlebars, new tires, re-do all bearings, clean-up the frame and what's left of the paint - done! At some point, I may fabricate a fiberglass tank in the style of the original long tank.
