That’s hilarious!!
When I was doing my wreck cert, I was using my first Dry Suit. It was a fluorescent orange upper, grey stripe with a black lower. Mrs. Bugs want something she could easily see.
When I busted it out on the boat, everyone went wild and started laughing. I heard every conceivable Home Depot joke imaginable. It was all in good fun. When we hit the bottom at 105’, on the Yukon in San Diego, vis was so so.
When we all surfaced and were on the boat, everyone one came up to me and said “Dude! We love your suit color, we could see you!!”. I then became the “rally point” of our dives. lol
I stumbled upon an old Coast Guard rescue suit. Thought I could convert it to a back up dry suit. Bright, lots of reflectors, the works. Then I was shocked into reality at the cost to replace the wrist cuffs, neck seal and boots. [emoji50]
Needless to say, it did not happen.
