Ubiquity.... the thing was that the money was in a "tax free" annuity that he had built up over his last 15-20 years as a high school teacher. He died at age 69, and because he didnt make it to 70...the whole annuity was taxed big time. Had he made it to 70, it would have been tax free. But the esophageal cancer got him first.
