Well, I was wrong. They ended up on this shore, just a half mile away. There was a flurry of activity just down the road and when two RCMP officers drove into out yard and asked if they could fly a drone, we were told what was going on. The body was recovered and now the family will have some closure.
My grandchild and I did a beach sweep last weekend and were within a couple hundred yards of the site of the recovery.
