He was beginning to think it was the Twilight Zone. He did call a snake disposal company. They looked under the house and found almost 100 rattlers. He said he wondered why there were no mice or mouse damage anywhere.
They found more in the barn. Most were very young rattlers. He spent a lot to get rid of them all.

The house we bought in Colorado was the only time I purchased a new home. It was in a nice development called "Diamond Back Ridge". I paid no attention to the name. I assumed it just a fancy name for a nice development of large homes that were $600,000 back in 2001. After seeing several rattle snakes, we asked one of the neighbors about it. He looked at me like I was an idiot. He just said, "you do realize the neighborhood is called Diamond Back Ridge for a reason", oops. I watched my labrador and kids much closer after that.
