It all started back in the 80's with satellite TV was free if you bought the dish but then...
Cable was supposed to be commercial free because you paid the monthly fee but then...
The consumer has proven over and over that they are willing to fall for the bait and switch. Eventually, the providers stopped apologizing and just stuck it to you because they know they can.
