Hyper sensitivity is one of the symptoms. The autistic brain processes information in a different fashion (and in some cases doesn't read the information). For instance, many people on the spectrum can't read social ques like changes in vocal tone or facial expressions. They can't read if the other person is joking or serious or even angry.
Love does help with the relationship within the family BUT it is of no help to the autistic person when they have to deal with the real world.
