Oregon has sooo many amazing places to visit!

Mt Hood
Rogue River
The entire coast
Black Butte
To name a few favorites-

Over several decades we have gone mostly to the beaches, great access, lots and lots of sand, or rocks, or both.
In 2022 we spent several days at a cabin at Black Butte ranch an we took a day trip into the Dechutes wilderness and did the Polina triad, Polina peak, lake and falls plus a hike up onto a mountain side of Obsidian and Pumice, some of the hardest and softest volcanic barf there is. Sturdy shoes an no dogs since you are walking on glass.

That entire area is in the Newberry caldera, Polina Peak is 7984' elevation.

Stunning area, it's on our "return to" list!

Here's a spot on Black Butte Ranch where a good size spring pops up out of the ground and starts a river.
It's crazy clear, clean and cold. Filled my water bottle a couple times there, no need to filter or treat it, it's been flowing underground from the surrounding peaks.
