i about killed my BIL, but i got it done. i had enough change for a few ice cream floats for my two man crew. but my MIL loves me now. she tells me all the time. even my own mom got uncomfortable. hahahhaha..

Similar situation when my FIL wanted to build a small barn for the horse when he got rid of the last of his cattle. He was talking about hiring someone to build basically a stall and room for a few bales of hay. I told him I could do it for half the price. He wanted to see the figures so I drew up plans for a 12 x12 box stall with equal space for hay, costed it to the last stud and door latch.
When it was finished with insulated walls and ceilings and repurposed double glazed windows, he joked about moving in and letting the horse have the old house.
