Different but it came to mind reading your post. Apps can fine tune how much of a touch it takes to trigger a result. CNN's app (leave the politics out please) is now under a subscription model and after reading 3 articles, you're prevented from reading anything else for 24 hours.

So in trying to swipe through the headlines just like any other app, I find myself opening articles I have no interest in reading, which quickly locks me out of the stories I am interested in looking at.
