Well you can look at it as you don't need SAE tools at your side when you're working on the car. AFA being a purist, I think it's how OCD you are. I match washers and nuts when fishing in the bin for that and that to use. I guess I can't stand 2 different types of screws used on the same item.

The odd ball thing on German and all cars is the universal seat belt bolt. 7/16"-20 UNF on just about everything. But to save the day, the bolt head is often 17mm. That makes that one bolt rather unique.
