We took a circuitous rote to get to the restaurant. One part was some of the untouched original Rt-66 road. It is not even part of the official Rt-66 anymore, but has an US historical marker there. It is mostly a rural residential street now.
It was 102 degrees and lots and lots of stop signs, and red lights. So lots of slow driving and stopping. My oil temp was 215 and held steady. With my wife in the car, the AC straggled to keep us cool. It was blowing 47 degree air at the hurricane blower speed. We did not sweat, but I did not hear any requested to turn the tempo up.
After the dinner, the car had sat in full sun for two hours, and it was 135 degrees inside the car. We came back home on the interstates and it took the AC 20 minutes to be blowing really cold air. It was another maximum test of the AC system, and it passed. If I still had the factory only AC, we would have taken my wife's Macan with air conditioned seats. No doubt, it would have kept us totally cool.
