For the majority of silver US coinage, right now condition doesnt mean all that much. Not to say there arn't numismatics where it is a huge factor but a lot of inherited collections are mostly walking liberties, common date morgans, cleaned coins, mostly common silver stuff valued by weight/face value.
Not to say OP doesnt have a gem mint seated dollar or 1700s flowing hair but mostly unlikely. Post a few pics and we will give starting advice.
Anything gold will be worth a ton of course these days, but its even less likely to be above spot/weight. Its shocking what high quality US coinage you can get in mint state for near gold price these days. I bought an MS 64 graded double eagle from the 1800s (liberty head) for melt not that long ago.
