Pete, watching that got me thinking. How often do people change tape now? Since I have had black tape for the past 10 years now, I think it gets changed every year or two only because I can't see any dirt. It does get washed every couple months with a sponge and soap. I had white tape forever and it showed all the dirt and when it happens, it was time to get rid of it.
I don't like that method. The plug can come loose but then the expanded can be tighten so they are much better. Mine are always left longer so it get tugged in as a single piece and the push in plug or expanded type stays put. Going to bed, have a long tough ride tomorrow
I am temped to put on some old fashion cloth tape if they are still available but the spongy foam tape is sure nice and fat. I love the feeling of new cloth tapes. AFter about two weeks of riding, not so much
