I've hated traffic since the 1990's after living in Atlanta then NorCal. I've designed my life to minimize traveling in traffic. We live within 1.5 miles of a very upscale dining/shopping spot. It's great during the week but I will avoid like the plague on the weekends unless there is a special event that requires me to participate. It's worse now because drivers are worse. Distracted, unaware and some are just outright selfish. I've tried listening to mellow music to help my feelings of calm and Zen when driving. It sorta helps.
