The older Oil pumps are just fine. You should inspect the gears for damage and check the Woodruff Key for play. Excessive play can in some instances cause the gear to crack at the stress raiser, so you might want to peen the Key to snug it up on the shaft anf the gear.
Put the gears back on in order and the right direction, I believe the gears are possibly marked by and indentation on the ends.
