You reminded me of a story from my youth.
Same senario, my mother called my dad home to get rid of this attack turtle she saw in our yard. My dad was about to kill it, but I talked him into putting in the trunk and driving me to the woods- 1/2 mile away. If I remember it was a 64 ford falcon. Anyway, when we opened the trunk- no turtle. Any guesses?
The turtle had managed to crawl over the drivers side rear wheel, and fall into a dead space in front of the rear wheel. Could not get to the poor thing- even tried removing interior pieces. Car stunk for a month. Be careful what you put in the trunk
