That was a great write up!! funny as hell, can't wait for the next one.
As far as the noodles going down the drain... I've been there many times. Actually I began to purposely make more noodles expecting to have a 15-20% loss during the rinse cycle.
and yanking the battery out of your smoke alarm is always a good precautionary step to cooking bread.
