Ok, I'll throw out the dissenting opinion: Porsche's decision to build an SUV isn't a "death of Porsche," but rather a demonstration of their versatility. I mean, look at the GT sequence (CGT, GT3...) and tell me those aren't "drivers cars." I would argue that Porsche still builds cars that are distinctly Porsche, but that they also build an SUV.

And before you tear it apart, one of the things I loved about Porsche from when I was tiny was the engineering -- some of the most beautifully engineered cars ever have come from these guys. Despite the Pepper-Wagen's SUV-ness, is it not the most perfectly engineered SUV alive? Is that not in holding with the incredible engineering that we've all come to know and love? Hasn't Porsche always appealed to yuppies? Why does it only bother us now?
