I've got the poly bushings that I just installed and didn't like the fact that the ends are exposed to the elements and road crap. When I installed the bushing (for the last time) I used an extra amount of grease so it would purposely ooze out around the flange of the bushing, I then centered the heat shrink over the bushing and susp. arm flange and hit it with the heat gun (took three tries to get it right). It wrapped around the flanges, and the extra grease filled the space between the flanges nicely. Every looked pretty secure, but just to make sure the tubing stayed where it was supposed to I put 'large' zip-ties between the flanges, the big ones fit perfectly. That worked great for the flanged part of the bushings but the ends were still exposed. Enter "black RTV"....I put a thin layer of grease on the susp. arm ends so the RTV wouldn't adhere, and potted the ends of the bushings to seal them off completely. There ain't no way that crap will get in there now, and they probably last forever (at the rate I'm getting this car done )....durability?...we'll see.
As you can see, I didn't waste any '914 funds' on buying a halfway descent digi camera.
P.S. - I have some extra 3" heat shrink (approx. 9') if anyone was wanting to try this, or could use some for some other project.
