If funds are a little tight now, purchase a fan as I suggested earlier. You'll eventually appreciate it with any fender-mount cooler. You might even try fabricating some sheet metal in back of the trombone cooler to create some turbulence in the air flow from the fan. Might help a little. Even 10 degrees helps.

I'd like to make a slight modification to GrindingGear's "best-to-the-worst" list. If placement is no object, I'd vote for a front-mounted cooler (in valence or front bumper) at the head of the list (no fan necessary). Of course, a front bumper change would be necessary. I base my suggestions on the needs of a 3 liter SC engine operating in warm to hot climates. If you have a modified 3.2 or larger engine, then the configuration might change a little (twin coolers).
