I have one of the cooler scoops installed on a 78 SC in conjunction with a large Lemke oil cooler . The scoop did help lower temps. I never see above 215 except on 90 degree plus days sitting in traffic.
At the track I see 225 after a hard session. The biggest drop in oil temps i noted was switching to synthetic oil.
