There is a great book and CD titled "Secrets of Singing" by Jeffrey Allen, available on amazon.com. The CDs (high and low voice) are particularily good... ranging in degree of difficulty of excercises. Work with this book for a month and your range and tone will increase significantly. The package costs about $40. He has one for the male and one for the female voice.
