Yup, that is the nature of car customizing. All of those things added or revised on the car actually reduce the number of people who would be nominally interested in buying it, as the vast majority want a pretty stock vehicle. I just bought my second '87 Carrera for less than $11k, even after the PO had put more than $12k into upgrades intended for autocrossing. What he did really made the car less desireable on the road, but for the price we decided to make it a track car. And he never got near half of what he had into the car.
