1) Why are you putting quotes around the word president?
2) Yes, he gave a speech, which should have been aired on all the networks (given that he's the president), but was not. Are we judging the import of events by whether they are aired on CBS now?
3) Questions are asked at what's known as a "press conference." This was a speech, hence there were no questions taken. Speeches are one-way communications tools.
I watched it, and thought it was heavy on platitudes, and light on substance. I was also shocked and troubled that he had trouble pronouncing "Abu Gharib."
Still, I'll watch any and all presidential addresses, and respect the office of the president even if I don't agree with the guy all the time.
