So is the war on terrorism really a war on ourselves? It seems more and more like it. Most of the money granted for Homeland Security, or increased security at all, has not been found in the state pocketbooks yet. L.A. is as vulnerable as it ever was, as I'm sure N.Y. is. I'm not at all surprised by these threats. I wouldn't be surprised if the threats are politically motivated, either. It's hard for me not to think that we - fellow Americans - are the ones getting played in this whole endeavor to seek and erradicate terror while also instilling democracy. We are lied to continually, or at least not given the full story. Now we're the sacrificial lamb, where if another terrorist strike occurs, it will bring legitimacy to Bush's cause.
But there's only a few lives left in that cat. Just as easily the opposite might occur if there is another terrorist attack here - the voters may say, "It's all YOUR FAULT, Bush," and his political career - or what's left of it - will be ashen - a small reparation if thousands are killed like in 9/11.
One way or the other, this country is the trump card as we are pandered and lied to, then threatened with. We're suckers, plain and simple!
