That is a VERY common form of haunting... the "choking ghost," from which the succubus legend comes. Nobody has reportedly died from it, but what usually happens is that someone feels a great pressure on top of them, and either cannot breathe or begin to feel crushed. There was a college in New Hampshire that closed about 3 years ago... supposedly the most haunted campus in America. A kid I knew went there and had this happen to him.
