I have a local place I frequent, it's down the road from my business and I "end up" there quite a bit. Anyway, it's really like a looking glass into America. I overhear and get involved in conversations with all types, and it really is educating.
I've met in the last week-
A Marine on leave from Iraq(said don't believe the hype, it's going much better than you think)
A drug dealer(piece of work, poor kid thinks he's got it dicked, smart kid, a damn shame)
A guy leaving his wife (listened to his story, makes me thankfull!)
A teacher (this guy hates his job, gambles and drinks like crazy, and *****es that he only makes $65k a year)
A US Steel engineer(great conversation, this guy has been in the business for 40 years and really opened my eyes)
You gotta love these little bars, if not for the conversation I probably wouldn't drink
