That tent of yours is almost a classic by itself. LOL.

. What's the reasoning behind taking off the wheel caps?

From reading I gleamed something about not getting busted...

To a layperson it may make the wheels look "uglier" and less desirable...

Hey Dave.. this whole thread still makes my little heart sing pitter patter.. these 911 rides are a complicated addiction. That ride was a pelican group experience. and it's now being remodeled Again for it's 3rd big ride. it's like a new personality that keeps me entertained on these 15k-20k mi solo moments in time. maybe it's the heat of a new girl friend. who knows.

That tent has been around since Aspen got its first red signal light. That area started it all. It was a fantasy come true yrs ago. I spent a few summers in that tent being Rock Mt high. thanks for getting me thinking about its history.

The wheel cap removal was part of the whole low profile package.. It wasn't washed till my brother said it embarassed him at his home in Marina Del Rey.. LOL.
I removed beautiful expensive sheep skins and rode in a pos old sheepskin seat cover. You had to know 911s to see what I was riding on..
So anyway the car didn't turn heads anywhere.. so it looked like there is not much to steal inside or even steal a pos looking car.. even the PD didn't look at it on the Hy. The front license plate was removed as soon as I was out of home NY. The front always had a bra on.. even laser had to take repeated hits on me because the ft plate is target #1.. and he couldn't tell there was no plate with the bra, I think., but I did leave the bracket and clear plastic plate protector on to fake him out wasting time, I think.. they would take continual laser shots till I passed him.. but it's only part of a no ticket, no busted game.. although in some parts of Wyoming I figured it's better if this NY tourist left town quickly.
and thanks for the attention.
