well in the car you want to consider over night parking security in SFO, to some degree the valley also, they will break in for any reason these days and that will really screw up your nice trip
@ a 150$ max, you have lots of places to choose from, you can get great dealios on rooms in adavance,,,
SFO hotles are cheep for hi value places, do consider the hyat regency down town, close to all the action, depends what your looking for but SFO just isnt that big, valley, well if you golf, deffiently Silverado country club, if you dont , B&B, my friends house next the her famillies winery all antique furnished is cheep, Nicolini winery,,, great set up off the beat and path,,,,
Calistoga is a day trip only, kinda a beat up littel towen actually, you could go up the coast a bit too, but if you wanna do the tours etc, a place locally will be better, its along da and you get sleppy if your testing grape jiuce, stay local, we were in sanoma for dinner last night a nice town and the bigger of the wine towns, it shut down at about 2000 hrs, so SFO for any kind of action or night life you might be interested in,
its all day stuff in the valleys
